Dave Buckman

 

Performer Guest Instructor, Guest Performer

Dave Buckman grew up in Marlton and Moorestown, NJ and has since directed, taught and performed at some of the world’s leading improvisational comedy institutions where he was fortunate to work with and direct some of the funniest people working in television and web-based sketch comedy today.

After several years studying and teaching improv in Chicago, Dave served as Artistic Director of Boom Chicago in Amsterdam for 2 years, He culminated his run in Europe with directing “Boom Chicago: RockStars” the second stage-swap with The Second City’s Main Stage in its 50 year history, After Europe, Dave worked as a director and teacher at The Second City in Chicago and Cleveland, directing Cleveland’s 2003 Main Stage revue, “Who’s yer Baghdadi?”.

Since 2005, Dave has been living in Austin, TX with wife and creative partner Rachel Madorsky, teaching and performing with their award-winning troupe The Frank Mills. In Austin he was won two B. Iden Payne awards for Improvisational Theater. He just finished shooting the feature "Cherry Bomb" and the short, "Make-A-Wish". Google them. He has taught and performed at the Chicago Improv Festival, The Dirty South Improv Festival, The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival and The Black Box Improv Festival. He is also a producer for The Out Of Bounds Comedy Festival, held every Labor Day in beautiful Austin, TX.
