Mike Schwartz is a founding member of PHIT Resident Group Activity Book, with whom he performs regularly along the East Coast. He can also frequently be seen hosting shows at the Philly Improv Theater.
Mike has been thrilled to get the opportunity to forget and then re-learn improv under the expert tutelage of the instructors at PHIT. Previously he studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. In addition to his class experience, Mike has workshopped with legendary improv instructors Joe Bill and Mark Sutton of BASSPROV.
Mike earned his Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Pittsburgh in December of 2007, and he's taught college classes in theatre history, introduction to performance, playwriting, and improvisation. Favorite roles include Bernard in *Arcadia* and the voice of Captain Goto in Patlabor: The TV Series - and he's done some writing and directing here and there as well. Mike is also the author of Broadway and Corporate Capitalism: The Rise of the Professional-Managerial Class 1900-1920, which is a guaranteed laff (two f's!) riot. He currently lives in Ridley Park, PA with his wife, Kathy.
